America, China, agree to semi-annual reform talks, dispute settlement

The United States and China agreed to restart semi-annual negotiations to resolve economic disputes among the two countries, a process that was abandoned at the beginning of the Trump administration as trade disputes escalated among the countries.

The US restart was stated by an official familiar with the debates. As part of the signing of a Phase 1 trade agreement between the USA and China, China is to be announced on 15 January.

President Barack Obama, and also President Donald Trump, originally, continued this project. The first round of the rename for Comprehensive Economic Dialog by the Trump administration took place in July 2017.
